A day trip full of cooperation, competition, and fun!

Looking for the perfect outing with your students?

How can you get your students to explore the city instead of heading straight for the nearest fast food restaurant? Add a game element!

An Outside Escape sends students into a city based on a unique story, and only by looking around carefully can they solve the riddles along the way. As a teacher, you can check online how far each team of students has progressed and award a prize to the group with the most points at the end.

Juliana School Overveen

Took 56 Year 8 pupils on an escape room adventure in Amersfoort. Great fun, although a little too difficult for Year 8 pupils at times. It took us at least 2.5 hours. We’ll definitely be back next year 🙂

The students were very enthusiastic! The competitive element was particularly helpful. It was very enjoyable to do with 35 students.

FAQ: Outside Escapes for school outings

Will there be on-site guidance?

Outside Escapes are self-guided city tours; so there is no guide present on location. You will receive all the necessary information on your mobile phone. You play an Outside Escape in your browser, there is no need to download an app.

And with the optional hints you’ll never get stuck!

How do I prepare for an Outside Escape with a large group?

An Outside Escape requires very little preparation, even for larger groups. Follow these steps to quickly and easily organise your own Outside Escape!

How many people can play an Outside Escape at the same time?

You can play an Outside Escape with large groups, up to around 80 people. We recommend playing with a maximum of 5 people in a team. Although you could also play with more than 5 people in a team, this will make it difficult to actively involve everyone in the game.

We also recommend having the teams leave at intervals of a few minutes, so they don’t get in each other’s way. After the start, the teams often disperse naturally, as one team usually solves the riddles faster than the other.

There is no on-site supervision, so you’ll have to arrange the teams yourself. However, we do offer the option of arranging catering options, so feel free to ask for a quote!

Can teams compete against each other?

Yes they can! Each team gets points based on the correct answers and the number of hints used. During the Escape, teams will regularly see the scoreboard with each team’s results. And as a coordinator, you can always check the progress and scores of all teams.
