This challenging city escape takes you past the famous landmarks as well as the lesser-known spots of Nijmegen. During this city walk, you and your teammates will solve riddles and get to know this city near the Waal in a different way.

A wet welcome on the Waal

Sandra can’t believe it. A massive tidal wave is coming down the river from the east. The bulkheads for water protection must be put in place. But her colleague has changed the access code to all the systems. Is this a bad joke, or is sabotage at play?

About Outside Escape Nijmegen

Start and end point

Starting point: Kronenburgerpark. This is about a 5-minute walk from the station. There is plenty of parking nearby.
End point: Kelfkensbos

The route

The route takes you past the city’s highlights, both literally and figuratively! From Kronenburgerpark, you’ll be guided to the Waalkade. Next, you’ll discover some of the more hidden streets in the city center. Then, walk via the Stevenskerk to the Grote Markt and the Korenmarkt. From the Valkhof, you have a fantastic view over the river. You finish at Kelfkensbos, where you can relax with a drink and/or a bite.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the elevation changes and stairs in Nijmegen’s city center, this route is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchair or mobility scooter users.

Difficulty level

Aan het begin van deze Outside Escape kies je tussen de basisvariant en de uitdagende variant. De uitdagende variant is voor deelnemers met enige ervaring met escape-spellen.

What ages are Outside Escapes suitable for?

Outside Escapes are suitable for families with children aged 14 and up. But there is plenty to do for younger children, as they can help solve riddles by looking around for hints! In addition, each escape contains 5 or 6 photos of locations to keep an eye out for. So even the smallest participants can participate in a fun photo hunt!

With how many people can we play at the same time?

An Outside Escape is suitable for 2 to 80 people. If you are with a larger group, we recommend playing with teams of around 5 people. This way, every team member gets a chance to actively participate and it stays fun for everyone. But you are free to form larger teams, of course!

Will you be playing with more than one team? Please order an access code for each team.

What do I need to play an Outside Escape?

To play an Outside Escape, you'll need the following:

A charged mobile phone (smartphone) with mobile data plan for the Netherlands or Belgium.
Pen and paper for notes can be handy, but are not essential.
If you are playing in the dark, you will need a good torch!

Once your order is completed, you will receive a link and access code that will allow you to start your Outside Escape directly from your mobile phone. There is no need to install an app. You cannot download the Outside Escape for offline use.
