This escape takes you past well-known and lesser-known places around Scheveningen and the boulevard. During this walk, you and your teammates will solve the mystery surrounding Otto Everhart. The escape also has a version for families with children aged 8 and above.

This escape adventure was developed in collaboration with writers Maria Postema and Maarten Bruns.

Bomb in the bunker

In one of the bunkers beneath Scheveningen, Dr Otto Everhart worked in strict secrecy after the war on a life-threatening experiment. Dr. Everhart plans to wipe Scheveningen and The Hague off the map with a super bomb! During local excavations, you find an old suitcase containing unusual objects and a map belonging to this mysterious scientist. Can you follow the trail on the map and defuse the bomb? But hurry, because time is running out…

The route

The route runs through the dune landscape of Scheveningen, where old bunkers lie beneath the sand. It continues across the beach and to the boulevard with famous buildings such as the Pier and the Kurhaus. Along the way, there is plenty to see, and you can always take a break at one of the beach bars or restaurants on the boulevard.

Difficulty level

At the start of this Outside Escape, you can choose between the basic version and the challenging version. The basic version is ideal for playing with children. The challenging version is for participants with some experience of escape games. Not sure which one to choose? After a few puzzles, you can switch levels once.

Age

This Outside Escape is suitable for adults, but also for families with children aged 8 and above.

Route duration

This Outside Escape takes approximately 2 hours, excluding breaks. The route is approximately 2.5 kilometres long.

After completing your order you'll receive an email with a login link and access code. With these, you can start your Outside Escape whenever you choose. No reservations are needed. All you need is a charged smartphone with a mobile data plan.

This Outside Escape was developed in collaboration with children’s book authors Maarten Bruns and Maria Postema. Together, they wrote DERTIENDAGH for young adults. It’s an exciting adventure set in the bunkers around Scheveningen and The Hague.

What ages are Outside Escapes suitable for?

Outside Escapes are suitable for families with children aged 14 and up. But there is plenty to do for younger children, as they can help solve riddles by looking around for hints! In addition, each escape contains 5 or 6 photos of locations to keep an eye out for. So even the smallest participants can participate in a fun photo hunt!

With how many people can we play at the same time?

An Outside Escape is suitable for 2 to 80 people. If you are with a larger group, we recommend playing with teams of around 5 people. This way, every team member gets a chance to actively participate and it stays fun for everyone. But you are free to form larger teams, of course!

Will you be playing with more than one team? Please order an access code for each team.

What do I need to play an Outside Escape?

To play an Outside Escape, you'll need the following:

A charged mobile phone (smartphone) with mobile data plan for the Netherlands or Belgium.
Pen and paper for notes can be handy, but are not essential.
If you are playing in the dark, you will need a good torch!

Once your order is completed, you will receive a link and access code that will allow you to start your Outside Escape directly from your mobile phone. There is no need to install an app. You cannot download the Outside Escape for offline use.
